The Constitution; Learn it or Lose it

America, it’s people, our society teeters on a precipice. Our choices, our awareness, our actions will determine if we are to return to a “free” nation. Conventional wisdom subscribes that a “free” society will only remain so if it’s people are dilligent to protect it. Ignorance, disinterest, indifference, blind loyalties, gullible acceptance, or general laziness of this generation of “free Americans” will surely be the demise of our liberty. Search yourself. A country’s government is a direct reflection of it’s people. Read the Constitution, OUR Bill of Rights, the Declaration of Indepencence, The American’s CreedGreat political debates ensue today as our uncertain future unfolds. I pray Americans will awake from their ignorance and apathy before the chains of enslavement are heavy upon us.

When Dr. Ben Franklin was asked in 1787 what type of government was bestowed upon this nation he replied a clear warning issued as a challenge to his generation. American’s today are seemingly bereft of great leaders  who inspire us to think and encourage education  and awareness. We have become disillusioned with our political system as year after year, election after election we intently hear politicians promise to lower taxes, restore our economy, practice responsible foreign and domestic policy, and reduce a mamoth federal government, etc. Yet year after year and election after election we get the same inane results. We the people know things aren’t right as our standard of living diminishes,  our nation fragments and our inalienable rights continue to fade away. Outcries for “democracy” can be seen & heard from coast to coast over this once great land where freedom and liberty once loudly rang, and within those sadly pathetic ignorant cries the root of our problems are revealed.When we are fed up, disgusted, and generally unhappy about our state of affairs in this country, we don’t have far to go to find the cause. Rather than blaming the stream of cloned politicans we perpetually elect to represent us, if we possessed the courage to admit it, we would realize the real culprits to this nations demise lies within ourselves. Oliver Wendell Holmes said; “Truth, when not sought after, rarely comes to light.”

At the turn of the 21st Century, in January and February, 2000, one lone Congressman addressed the house of representatives and the American people, citing Ben Franklin’s challenge to our own generation, Dr. Ron Paul recited; “A Republic, if you can keep it”,  and presented a constitutional plan imploring US to return to the unparalleled wisdom of our founders, the blueprint for this “Republic” their blood and fortunes paid to bequeath to us. Its foundation created a great, prosperous nation, where every man, woman and child lived free, a rich land of opportunity where one could become or achieve all they could dream,  and a nation which was respected throughout the world.

Honorable Congressman Dr. Ron Paul, has fought for this restoration for our country for almost two decades. He diligently works to keep transparency in government and our freedoms, liberty and those same founding principles in tact. You can access a catalog of his “Texas Straight Talk” , presenting views about many various policies and legislation government has imposed. Have we been listening?

During the South Carolina Republican presidential debate America and its people crossed a threshold which cast a grim distressing shadow upon us all. Rudy Giuliani verbally attacked Ron Paul for speaking a little known and very inconvenient truth, to the people, out loud, on public airways.  (Media was once called “free” press and was designed to deliver “news” to the people to keep government honest.) While Giuliani was well within his rights to disagree with Dr Paul’s’ statement, the significance is the subsequent shameful reaction of a revolting, seemingly blood-thirsty crowd cheering Giuliani on, (also helped by MNS increasing the volume of their applasue), still they clearly exhibited the abundant ignorance in today’s American society. Congressman Paul was ridiculed, attempts to persecute and labeled “un-American” because he dared to speak the truth. Yet he stood tall and refused to retract his statement, later delivering evidence; “Educating Rudy” for his statement.  Still, the Michigan RNC proposed to have him banned from future debates. The “establishment”; the cartel of central bankers, the shadow government who run this country, clearly does not want you to hear Ron Paul’s message.

The contention is this; if the American people knew more about our nation’s foundation beyond the few lines we often inacurately try to glibly recite or the flags pinned to our lapels we would easily recognize the character of any person who tries to silence and destroy a voice of truth and its right of dissent. If the American people bothered to read our founding documents they would easily identify pandering politicians who arrogantly believe they know better than our founders and ignorantly or deliberately dismantle our constitution. If the American people were at all familiar with those same founding documents they would easily recognize this attempt to destroy the credibility of a man who has perhaps single handedly fought for two decades to keep our Republic form of government that protects our individual inalienable rights to freedom, life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness intact, from those who would destroy it, for you, for me and our posterity.

The preamble of our Constitution states;  We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.” We have a responsibility to maintain our freedom and we have carelessly and blindly handed it over to vain, ambitious and aspiring men, election after election, without our due diligence to the most precious and valuable asset we own. I doubt very much if any of us would hand our check books over so easily, (even though figuratively speaking that too has been the ultimate result from our absence of our civic duty, our due dilligence to keep government honest. Imminent domain, where’s “the people’s” gold? And how did inflation get so disproportionate? Could it be the fiat money system the central bankers-Federal Reserve has taken us to? After “robbing” the people’s gold in the 30’s, now printing paper money at will,  isn’t worth the paper it’s printed on?) Yet we have treated our freedom, our most valuable asset, like an intangible commodity to be bought and sold.  We now wonder how we and our country have ended up in the state we are in today.

If you’re still living under the delusion America is still a “free” nation ask yourself these questions: 

  • When “the people” clearly petition our congressmen, senators, or president, what’s the result?
  • Who makes the rules in our country today?
  • If you weren’t aware of the information Ron Paul spoke of in the debate, why not? 

Ronald Regan issued repeated warnings to the American people. Although I didn’t agree with his economic policies, I believe he tried to speak to the American people to shake their awareness of what goes on within government, beyond the sight of a neglectful “We the people” who blindly trust government to do what is right without our required due diligence to protect our freedom and liberty.

Whoever convinced us communism or dictatorships are dead was very clever indeed. Forms of flagrant dictatorial oppression are omni-prevalent in this government. If you make a quick study of the principals of fascism and socialism you’ll become keenly aware how we have permitted the fast track embrace of dictatorial powers this country is engaging from both sides of our political duopoly.  Compare it to our own founding principles to see what we’ve traded for what we have. Despite our freedom’s vanishing existence, those who truly knew it will never forget. Yet those of us who have been subjected to the “dumbing down” of our society for decades through our education system, our media and other permeated influences, must learn to educate ourselves. Study our founders meaning of “freedom”. Even American icons/heroes have been grossly changed. Does anyone remember “Superman” who stood for “Truth, Justice and the American Way?”, John Wayne, and even the Lone Ranger just to name a few. Who and what have they been replaced with? SpongeBob’s SquarePants. A sponge figure who touts “Just give me the ‘entertainemnt’ section of the newspaper, that’s all I need!” Is there any wonder the majority our brains have been disengaged? 

George Bush once said, supposedly, in jest; “I told all four [congressmen] that there were going to be some times where we don’t agree with each other. But that’s OK. If this were a dictatorship, it’d be a heck of a lot easier, just so long as I’m the dictator.”

Giuliani said; Freedom does not mean”people can do anything they want, be anything they can be,” he said. ”Freedom is about the willingness of every single human being to cede to lawful authority a great deal of discretion about what you do and how you do it.”

There’s a frightening concept of freedom.

And don’t think I’m a liberal leaning Republican basher, don’t forget Bill Clinton’s; “We can’t be so fixated on our desire to preserve the rights of ordinary Americans…” Source; March 1, 1993, during a press conference in Piscataway , NJ. Joseph Goebbels said; “It is the absolute right of the state to supervise the formation of public opinion.”

  3. I have read the Constitution on many occasions. I keep a copy next to the PC and refer to it daily. I’ve posted some of my findings on various web-sites have have gotten many interested in it’s content. A government of the people, for the people , and by the people has to be maintained by the people. We snoozed for 40 years. Now it will be an arduous task to “get back in charge”, but it can and will be done if the rise against the “amnesty bill” is any indication of how active We, the People can be when “backed into a corner.”

    You’re so right. And I, too, have been encouraged in many ways; the way the people rose up & stopped the amnesty bill! And traveling around the web, today people are writing with knowledge about the CFR, Bilderberg’s, Trilat, and other clandestine operations. When we began this mission I was laughed at, ridiculed, scorned, called a conspiracy theorist, etc. People have learned a lot and are learning more and more. The more light that’s shed, the more they’ll learn.

    I’m also encouraged by the young people, like those who started the Ron Paul grassroots web campaign, these kids know what’s going on. I think a few middle aged and certainly more older folks remember it, (our founding documents), but somewhere in between it seems there is (becoming was) largely a big black hole. It’s troubling that when I question school students, even today, about what’s being taught in schools, many recognize Thomas Jefferson’s name but can’t tell you who he is. We also used to get college students who would come to our organizations meetings who were almost completely void of any knowledge of this country’s founding principles and history. It was frightening. Many, young and older alike, are only just learning what it means to have individual rights! When I used to talk with people about their “rights” I was amazed by many dumb (silent) seemingly stupefied stares.

    But largely, I’m very encouraged today. When I wrote the majority of my “angry with American’s” pieces (they’re older than this blog), I felt a great doomed dispair for this nation and it’s people. Then I began studying Jefferson’s memoirs during the Revolution and the same apathy was present then. It’s simply up to those who will to encourage, inspire and educate as necessary “the people” in times such as these. It gave me hope. I’ve seen US come a long way since. We certainly aren’t home free, by any stretch of imagaination, and “We the people” still have great work ahead of us. But my faith in the American people has largely been renewed and I’m seeing “the true spirit of America” rise again.

    “We the people” are experiencing a rebirth! Minds are opening, people are learning; history, about our rights, to think independently! And they are discovering the power exercising those rights gives them, the power of “We the people”. And we’re going to need that, because I don’t suppose for an instant that this “establishment”, these “powers that be”, is going to go down easily. But “We the people” can & I believe will win this thing!

We actually have a good bit of traffic, yet seemingly minimal comments. But I have the stats, so we’re being read.
